Club news

Congratulations to the Ladies Pearson Team

There was a fantastic result for our Ladies Pearson team last Monday as they beat Dorking 5-2 at home, and we are now awaiting confirmation that Bletchingley will be through to the next stage of the competition.

Our ladies had only lost one match in their group so I am pretty sure we should go through to the next round. This is a knockout home and away fixture, but we won't know who it is against until this round is completed on 11th March.

Jenny Manser
our Pearson captain was full of praise for her squad and thanked everyone who had committed to the Pearson competition even if they didn't get to play in any of the matches so far.

Jenny said, "It is good to have strength in depth. They have all played so well I will find it very difficult to choose the next team".

We will keep you posted with any further news.

MOT your game

A warning from the golf police

Hands up who's got three points on their licence for getting caught driving on bald tyres. We'll spare you the lecture, it's not for us to warn you about the dangers of not replacing your tyres when they're running low on tread. However, golf grips that are worn and shiny… now that is our area of concern - and we'd happily fine anyone at the club for playing with worn ones!

Your grip is the only point of contact between you and your club, so it stands to reason that if you can't get the traction you need, you'll struggle to produce a fluid swing; cue hook, slice, thin, top. Over the next few weeks we encourage you to read our features on why it's so important to re-grip your clubs and how we can help find grips that are right for you.

Do you play a lot in the wet weather?
Are your hands bigger than the average person's?

There are so many options, and given the chance to try a new grip you'll be amazed by the difference you feel straight away. Playing with worn grips is one of the biggest equipment failures in the amateur game. We can help fix this destructive problem in no time at all, just come and speak to us in the shop. Lecture over!

Click here to find out more about our FREE Grip offer, where you can get a FREE Grip on your 7 iron. It really is as simple as that.

CSI Hub to replace the member's website

Thank you to all of you who have signed up to the CSI Hub, and for anybody who hasn't please find below the details which were published in last 2 weeks' newsletter.

By the end of February, we are planning to remove the member's site on the website and replace it with the CSI Hub. The CSI Hub is a mini site with a secured area containing Member information which is automatically updated. Members can log in and view the following features:

  • Membership list and all contact details.
  • Full Men's and Ladies Handicap lists.
  • Competition Results summaries from HowDidIDo.
  • Course analysis from HowDidIDo.
  • Current Handicap details and recent graph.
  • Members card balances and recent transactions.
  • All behind a secure registration and login process.

Members tee bookings will also be taken from the website and placed onto the CSI hub. We feel this is a step forward and all the latest member's news can also be found through this site. Each section will send me through their news and it will be posted.

Please click here, then click on log in, to register. Please note that you must use the email address that we currently have on your Club V1 profile as that is how the system will recognise you. You will then be asked some security questions but please feel free to call me if there are any problems.
