Captains Charity Day - Saturday, 25 June
Captains Charity Day was held last Saturday at the club in aid of the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Trust. Despite a delay near the beginning of the round due to a thunderstorm, all 20 teams that had entered finished their rounds in warm sunshine.
The evening sunshine enabled everyone to enjoy a drink on the club patio ahead of a great meal cooked on the new club BBQ!
The Winners were the team led by Matt Charman with a great score of 93 points. Second was the team led by John Blackley, and the team that came third was led by Mark Fuller. (It obviously helps if you know your own course). We did have a large variety of teams including guest teams, ladies only teams, and some with returning past members.
A very big thank you to all those members and volunteers who helped make the day so successful. The evening concluded with the prize giving and music from two bands; Mat Black (which included Michael Harvie and John Blackley) and Switchback. The Organising Committee feel the change of format for the day created a relaxed and a less formal approach! Many Thanks to everyone involved.
