Saturday Swindle
The competition and matches Committee have decided to change the start time for the Saturday Swindle from 8am to 9.14am. This new start time will commence from Saturday, 13 May.
The committee felt that this will allow the Business Ladies to join in if they wish and they also felt this would offer Kevin more support with people having breakfast before they went out. It also offers members with a non-playing spouse the opportunity to play without alienating their spouse with a very early start after a long working week.
Winter Rules
Please note from Monday, 1 May, Winter Rules will no longer be in operation.
Note For The Diary
The only Saturday that will not be available to tee off at 9.14 will be the Saturday, 30 September. The start time revert back to an 8am start for that one week.

Water Hazard Rules
I am always being asked about a ruling when taking a drop from a water hazard and where the ball must be played from. I thought I would take this opportunity this week of giving readers a simple explanation of where you can drop and your various options.
Please click on the image to inlarge.
If your ball is in a water hazard (yellow stakes and/or lines) you may play the ball as it lies or, under penalty of one stroke:
Play a ball from where your last shot was played or.
Drop a ball any distance behind the water hazard keeping a straight line between the hole, the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard and the spot on which the ball is dropped.
If your ball is in a lateral water hazard (red stakes and/or lines), in addition to the options for a ball in a water hazard (see below), under penalty of one stroke, you may drop within two club-lengths of, and not nearer the hole than: "
The point where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard, or.
A point on the opposite side of the hazard equidistant to the hole from the point where the ball last crossed the margin.
