Lady's Captains' Day
Pauline's theme for Lady's Captains' Day last Thursday was "Tropical". All the ladies were asked to wear their most colourful clothes, with many wearing flower garlands and even a grass skirt. Caribbean steel band music got everyone in the mood as they arrived in the morning and even the weather was tropical.
The ladies played 27 holes of golf, with Karen Cottle winning the Captain's Prize for the morning round with a score of 39 points. Pina Coladas were served after golf followed by a fabulous seafood buffet prepared by Kevin. Charlotte Kneer, the CEO at Reigate and Banstead Women's Aid (Pauline's charity) joined the ladies for dinner and spoke briefly about her work at the refuge.
Everyone had a great day.
Women's Golf Day - Tuesday, 6 June
FORE! WOMEN the website dedicated to guiding women who want to give golf a go, has got together with TSG to hold a joint event to celebrate Women's Golf Day at Bletchingley Golf Club in Surrey on Tuesday, 6 June 2017.
The day is designed to give those attending and who are new to the game, a fun 'taster' of the sport. The Social Golfer team will host the event on their Event pages and task its male members to bring at least one female friend or family member to the day, growing the sport. Male TSG PRO members can opt to play 18 holes while their female guests will join Felicity from FORE! WOMEN and the TSG team and they will receive an introduction to the basic skills of golf: putting, chipping, pitching and long shots. They will also be provided with plenty of opportunities to ask questions about their potential golfing journey. Ben Daniels will be on hand to give additional coaching and advice during the day.
There will also be prizes to encourage a fun atmosphere followed by a light lunch. Women will be able to attend the day for only £20 including lunch, making the day both affordable and welcoming. Taking TSG's PRO members as an example, if 1 in 10 brought along a non-playing female guest to the Women's Golf Day at Bletchingley, this would mean that we would be able to send a positive message to all male golfers.
Women's Golf Day is keen to remove as many barriers to golf as possible and it does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of sex, race, colour, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, or sexual orientation - everyone is welcome.
