Captans' Day

On Saturday, 17 July  we have this year's Captains' Day. The format will be a stableford, white tees for the men and red tees for the ladies. This is open to all 7 day members and is a £5.00 entry.

Bletchingley's Golfing Gladiator

Alex Smith, Bletchingley's Golfing Gladiator, completed four rounds of golf on Monday in aid of the men's and lady captain's charities. Alex started at 5.20am and walked off the 18th green at 6.05pm having played 72 holes of golf - the last four without shoes. This is a magnificent achievement and even more impressive is Alex played off the white tees and putted out on every hole scoring 25, 37, 35 and 33 points over four rounds. Huge congratulations to Alex and many, many thanks to everyone who sponsored him. There is still time to make a donation and you can do this via the virgin money giving page or the pro shop. 

Lady Captains' Away Day

Last week, 31 ladies enjoyed the Lady Captains' Away Day at Cowdray Park. The course was in fabulous condition and with lovely views across the South Downs followed by an excellent meal, everyone had a super day. The winning team were Freda Millmore, Jane Bywaters, Sandra Wright and Karen Cottle.

Festival of Golf

Congratulations to Tim Burke on becoming our 2017 Club Champion. Tim shot a gross total of 162 for the two rounds. Graham Gomez won the Mattinson Salver for the 0-16 handicaps with a nett total of 150. Bob Besley won the Ellen Dawson Trophy for 17-28 handicaps with a nett total of 144.

The weekend was a huge success and the feedback was extremely positive on the condition of the course and Kevin's BBQ which was served after play on the Sunday. The atmosphere in the clubhouse was excellent with all the members enjoying the summer sunshine and BBQ, then patiently waiting to congratulate all our winners following the presentation.
