Update I would like to make members and visitors aware of the reasons why we rope and fence off certain areas on the course. The roped off areas in the winter get extremely wet and if golfers continue to walk on them they become muddy and over time very worn. Our greenkeeping staff do not want this to happen as this all costs money to repair both in labour and consumables. We would appreciate all golfers showing a little more respect for our product and follow the correct routes that are clearly set out. Please resist from cutting corners for your own selfish reasons.
If the blue ropes become an obstruction when hitting your shot, then please replace them as you found them after you have played. This should not be part of the greenkeepers morning routine to replace the rope and pigtails that golfers do not see this as their responsibility. All the golfing traffic behind you depending on what time you tee off, will think is OK to walk across parts of the course, we are so desperately trying to protect. |
