Ladies Club Championship Day A field of 21 ladies entered into the Ladies Club Championship: a 36 hole challenge, testing the wit and endurance of all its competitors. With the continued hot weather and heatwave conditions, early preparations were also required to avoid heat exhaustion. Sadly, the weather had other ideas, as has become customary; thunderstorms threatened which then played a pivotal role on the day. With the added misfortune of localised torrential rain, the competition was abandoned during round two, meaning final results were taken from round one only. The Ladies Champion 2020 and winner of the Willowteam Rose Bowl with a gross score of 88 was awarded to Lesley Simpson-Crick. The Cedar Cup (Div 2&3 trophy) with a gross score of 93 was awarded to Caroline Patterson and The Challener Salver, (best nett score) was awarded to Angie Jenkins with a nett score of 73. In addition, 20 ladies played in the alternative 18 hole stableford competition. Division 2 winner - Trudy Hall - 35pts Division 3 winner - Marion Coxall - 36pts Many congratulations to all winners and to all competitors who braved the weather, which ultimately beat everyone. |
