A Message from Michael Day
Dear Members,
It is with great sadness that I will be leaving Bletchingley Golf Club on the 27th May, after joining here 7 years ago as Junior. I have taken the opportunity to go and work as Assistant Professional at the London Golf Club. It was not an easy decision to make as I have truly enjoyed my time here at Bletchingley.
I am very grateful to all the members for their support over the last 7 years. I have made lots of friends while at Bletchingley and I will definitely come back in the future to see how everyone is doing.
Thanks again for all your support,
Michael
Geraldine Edwards Reaches A Second Surrey Final!
On Saturday, 25 April, Geraldine Edwards played in the Surrey Autumn Handicap Singles Final at West Byfleet Golf Club.
Her opponent was from Roehampton and it was a very close match. On this occasion Gerry was the runner up, but took the match to the 16th green. She played 7 over gross for the front nine, which was to her handicap, but her opponent played just under her handicap which made the difference. This is a fantastic achievement by a Bletchingley member, having won the Centenary Foursomes last year. Well done!!
2015 Charity Golf Day - Friday, 15 May
An invitation to join us,
Loveworks, the Independent Reigate Charity is holding its 2015 Charity Golf Day event on Friday, 15 May. The venue, in association with Santander and Toyota is the fantastic Bletchingley Golf Course, Surrey, home of the PGA Surrey Championships for the next three years!
The event kicks off at 1pm, giving you time to clear your desks in the morning and enjoy an early start to the weekend by supporting this volunteer run local Reigate charity. Participation could not be easier, simply enter a team, sponsor a hole, or prize or just be involved as a player, whatever; we would love to hear from you.
We promise you a great day. Our charity golf event is an ideal way to thank important clients for their continued business, reward staff for going that extra mile or just finding some time to be with friends and family. All teams and sponsors will get profiles in our event literature and publicity on our soon to be launched new website, while all hole and prize sponsors will also have recognition of support on the course. The day which will be packed with a whole host of opportunity for golfers to prove your talents, including prizes for;
Best Teams
Best overall stableford score
Longest drive competition, men and women
Nearest the pin par three prizes
Once the golf is over we will provide you with a splendid summer BBQ which you, clients, friends and families can enjoy. When all have been aptly fed our golf event will end with a raffle draw, auction and prize giving.
Loveworks is a unique local charity, delivered entirely by volunteer support with extremely small operational overheads. Our work includes helping older people who suffer isolation and loneliness, food bank support for those dealing with poverty and family support issues, mentoring for young adults struggling to engage within society and find employment and support for local women in our community who are experiencing abuse, hardship and suffering. Be confident that any funds raised will go directly to those in greatest need and is NOT swallowed up by administrative demands; Loveworks does not have any full time employees.
Registration closes May 1st 2015 and we would love to see you on the 15th May. Please consider being a part of this local event and help our fundraising efforts either by completing a team registration or sponsorship form or better still both!
Our huge thanks;
The Loveworks team Reigate - 'Bringing the community together to make a difference'

Justin Rose wins Zurich Classic of New Orleans by one shot
England's Justin Rose birdied the last two holes to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Sunday.
It was a seventh PGA Tour title for the 34-year-old, who won by one shot from American Cameron Tringale, 27, with Boo Weekley, 41, a further stroke behind.
Rose carded a 66 in a weather-disrupted final round in Louisiana.
The world number nine, runner-up at the Masters, posted a 22-under-par total of 266, but had to wait for the last groups to finish before celebrating.
Tringale, one of five players to hold at least a share of the lead in the final round, eagled the par-five seventh on the way to a 65.
