As the Masters edges closer, we can't wait to see if Adam Scott can hang on to his Green Jacket. Scott is an interesting case. His swing has always looked majestic; yet five years ago, he'd dropped out of the world's top 50 and his career was stalling. It prompted Scott to switch long-term coach, Butch Harmon, for unknown Aussie Brad Malone. Malone quickly spotted a postural kink that caused Scott to separate his arms from his body, costing his action connection and coordination. A simple set-up change turned Scott's career around.
The episode shows two things: first, that a successful action is built on solid basics, whether it's yours or mine or Adam Scott's; and second, that a fresh pair of eyes can make a real difference to a player's form.
As the season starts, I urge anyone who has not had a lesson for a while to drop into the shop and talk to us. We can't promise you a Masters triumph… but we will improve your game. Click here to review our instruction pages and maybe book a lesson too.
Sunday Swindlers Away Day at Crowborough Beacon
Last Sunday, 19 of the Sunday Swindlers traveled to Crowborough Beacon GC to play their Swindle Away day which had previously been rained off after 9 holes. Thankfully though this time around the weather was much better and they were able to finish all 18. The Winner on the day was Colin Crick with a good score of 35 points, with Richard Jenner coming second on 33 beating Jonathan Dean, who also scored 33, on countback.
There was also two nearest the pin prizes on the 6th and 17th which were won by Michael Day (6th) and Paul Stephens (17th). Lastly the secret pairs competition was tied between Tim Burke and Andy McGillivray and Andy Hemmet and Kevin Lucas, both pairs scored 60 points. The day was a great success, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you to Lesley Crick for organising the day and to Crowborough Beacon for being great hosts.

A Message from the EGU
As a member of our Golf Club your handicap details are now included within the club's records on the England Golf Central Database of Handicaps (CDH).
You have automatically been allocated a unique CDH ID number by our club's handicapping software, identifying you individually on the CDH. This allows you immediate access to your exact and playing handicap online. It also means that you will no longer be required to produce a Handicap Certificate when playing in away competitions as those clubs can access your playing details through the CDH.
It is now recommended that you register your details with your CDH ID number by completing the registration process here. It will only take a few minutes, simply enter your information where prompted.
This unique CDH ID number also ensures that all your away scores are automatically routed back to our Golf Club as your home golf club, helping keep your handicap up-to-date at all times.
Importantly, after registering your CDH ID number with the Handicap and Benefits Programme, you are identified as a member of England Golf. This provides you with access to your latest handicap online plus additional benefits and discounts and automatic entry into our free prize draws.
Once registered your CDH ID number will remain with you for the time you are a golf club member.
