Captain's Drive In
Firstly may I take this opportunity to wish both John and Geraldine a very successful year in 2016. I hope you both enjoy your new roles. The directors and the staff wish you all the very best.
My thanks to Peter and Rosemary for their help and support this year and I am sure they are looking forward to a well-earned rest away from the spotlight.
The drive in went very well with 13 teams competing in the morning's Texas scramble.
Toby Chandler, Marion Coxall, Brian Haegar and Simon Glastonbury finished top of the pile with a nett score of 59.71. Matt Charman, Alan Cottle, Sarah Hussey and Mark Fuller finished 2nd with 60.9 and in 3rd place, Michael Harvie, Jon Waters, El Rhodes and Andy Mcgillivray finished with 61.5.
Following the morning's golf, Peter and Rosemary putted out their year on the 18th green and it was then left to John and Geraldine to drive in off the 1st tee. They arrived courtesy of Bletchingley Fairways to the 1st tee where they both were met by all the competitors to show their support. Geraldine's drive totalled 105 yards and John Blackley's drive totalled 180 yards. Paul Stephens and Jon Waters split the prize money as they were both closest to guessing the yardage for the ladies and our outgoing captain Peter Ross guessed John's.
A Message from Ben Daniels I really enjoyed my time last Sunday videoing your swings and there is definitely potential in all of you, just by making a few tweaks here and there.
