Just a couple of Gentle Reminders to start this week:
Inactive Handicaps
May I please remind any members that haven't played 3 qualifying competitions that they will need to do so by the end of the year. If members fail to do this then their handicap will become inactive from January 1st 2016.
Turkey and Ham Trot
The closing date for the Turkey and Ham Trot will be Saturday, 5 December.
For all of you who are playing please remember to wear you festive sweaters on the day and the competition is a shotgun start from 8.30am.
Christmas Society Offers
Plenty of tee times will be available over the festive period and we would like to encourage members and visitors to invite their friends to Bletchingley.
We are the perfect destination for winter golf.
For the latest offers on society bookings please contact me.
Look Out, Captains Charity Fines now being implemented
An issue which was raised at the Members Committee last Tuesday was that golfers continue to take their trollies between the green and the greenside bunkers, completely ignoring the ropes that are put there for a reason.
The committee have now decided that a fine of £1.00 will be imposed on any individual caught infringing on this rule.
All fines will go towards the Captains Charity fund.

Indoor Winter Coaching Evenings
I'm excited to announce some dates over the winter when I'll be taking over the new 'Let's Golf' Facility - one of the top simulation destination venues in the UK! Expect a new experience in golf, some evening fun and visible improvements in your swing!
Using my guidance, along with the latest indoor HD simulators, video analysis and pressure plate technology that the facility has to offer, we'll look at enhancing your technique. You'll forget about the cold winter weather that could be hindering your practice, when we play virtually on some of the best courses in the world from St Andrews to the PGA National.
I'm only extending this offer to eight members or friends per class, so please book your slot quickly to avoid disappointment.
As always, you can email or call me with any questions you have, or click here to get in touch.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Ben

The dreaded mud ball
Who's had one of these recently? It's bound to happen at some point over the winter, so rather than curse your luck and resort to hit and hope, follow our advice and you may just avoid bogey or worse.
When you're faced with a mud ball you're going to find that the ball is going to fly through the air with much less spin. So…
1. Select a club or landing area that will cater for your shot releasing towards the target.
Some of the mud is bound to disperse on impact, but it's impossible to predict which direction it will fly in. Therefore…
2. Take a neutral aim and commit to the swing like normal.
There is obviously going to be a degree of luck whatever you do, but unless you have to, don't take on any difficult flags. Try putting this into action.
